We’re onto the fifth Outlander book in our Outlander Book Club. In case you get behind, here are all The Fiery Cross chapters in one place.

The Fiery Cross is the fifth book in the Outlander saga. It’s one of those books that readers tend to either love or hate, especially the start of it. You’ve heard of “the world’s longest day” comments. After all, the lead-up to Brianna and Roger’s wedding does take about 250 pages or so. Yes, that all takes place within one day!

However, the story is much more than the Gathering. While Drums of Autumn gave us hints here and there of the things to come, the fifth book delves into it much more. We get the start of the troubles in the colonies with the Hillsborough riots and eventually getting to the Battle of Alamance and beyond.

At the same time, we see more character development outside of Claire’s narrative. We spend more time with the individual characters, especially Roger, Jamie, and Brianna. The family is getting bigger, and there’s plenty of drama to come.

Of course, life gets in the way. While we stick to one chapter per day, some of the chapters are long. It’s why we have the weekends off, allowing people to get caught up as much as possible. And that’s what this post is all about.
