Brianna gets some unwanted attention at the Ridge in Outlander Book 5, Chapter 79

We get to see life for Brianna on the Ridge a little more in Outlander Book 5, Chapter 79. It turns out she’s getting some unwanted attention.

Brianna has been teaching the girls on the Ridge their ABCs. She’s not a natural teacher, but she’s finding a way to contribute to the Ridge. Of course, she’d be able to contribute in other ways considering her skills, but this is an important one. Young girls (and even some boys) wouldn’t get the chance to learn to read and write, but Brianna is making sure they do.

However, it leads to some unwanted attention. There’s a certain young man who is interested in her, and he clearly doesn’t know the word “no” very well.

Fortunately for Brianna, Jamie is there. And I do say fortunately. Remember the time period.

The chapter wasn’t used in the series. I’ll get to my thoughts about that in the adaptation section, but I do understand why it wasn’t used. There are a few reasons to skip over it when it comes to the TV series.

As for foreshadowing, there is a little bit. It’s all to do with Brianna’s thoughts about Roger. Again, I’ll get into that when it comes to the foreshadowing section.

Let’s dive into The Fiery Cross Chapter 79.
