Claire treats the patients coming from the battlefield in Outlander Book 5, Chapter 67

As the Battle of Alamance comes to an end, Claire treats the last of the patients arriving in Outlander Book 5, Chapter 67. She also gets word about what Tryon is doing to the leaders of the Regulators.

The chapter starts off with some similarities to the aftermath of Prestonpans. Claire is treating patients, although this time she’s also keeping an eye on Brianna. It’s the end of the chapter that changes things, although there’s that same sense that something bad is about to happen.

This chapter is an important one in terms of plot development. It’s what takes Brianna to where the Regulators are being hanged. Without someone mentioning the leaders of the Regulators being executed on the spot, Brianna and Claire wouldn’t have known until it was too late. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

It was partly used for the series. There were some changes, with a major loss happening on the TV series. It’s as if Roger’s story wasn’t devastating enough. However, there was still the important element: finding out that Tryon was executing the Regulators. I’ll get to my thoughts on this change in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into The Fiery Cross Chapter 67.
