What is Drums of Autumn about?

Before we get into the chapter list, let’s get a quick reminder of the events from Drums of Autumn. The fourth book in the Outlander story picks up with Claire and Jamie in the colonies. That’s where they’re staying, but they need to get Young Ian on a boat to Scotland first.

Of course, plans don’t always work out when they come across a pirate called Stephen Bonnet and Young Ian decides to adopt a dog called Rollo.

Meanwhile, we pick up with Brianna and Roger’s story in the 20th century. It’s 1969 and the two continue to live on different continents but stay in touch after the events from Voyager. Will the two find their way to each other, and what happens when they learn some disastrous news about Claire and Jamie in the past?

This is the point in the story where it expands to more than just Claire and Jamie. We get to know other characters from their own points of view, and I can’t say that I’m disappointed in that. In fact, I love the way the overall story grows from this point.
