Brianna and Jamie go bee hunting in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 42

We get a little bonding time between Brianna and Jamie in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 42 as the two go bee hunting.

This chapter is important for Jamie and Brianna’s relationship. Bree gets to learn a little more about the world in the 18th century, while Jamie also gets to see the type of woman his daughter has become. We get this chance to hear the thoughts of both of them about each other, which hasn’t happened before.

There’s also a bit at the very end with Claire, as she thinks about life with Brianna back in it. However, both Claire and Jamie have to be honest about one thing: Bree isn’t planning on staying.

There’s no doubt that this chapter had to be developed for the series. At least, the bit with the bee hunting and the shooting had to be developed, giving us a little chance to see Bree and Jamie bond. It wasn’t enough for some, but there was only so much the TV show could do with 13 episodes and now multiple characters to split focus on.

We start Part 10 with a chapter that is about the normal length from this point. It comes in at 30 minutes, but is packed with thoughts and emotion.

Let’s dive into Drums of Autumn Chapter 42.
