Brianna sets sail to the colonies in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 35

Brianna heads off across the waters to the colonies in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 35. She is not alone for this journey.

This is one of those chapters that had to be used in the show, but was heavily adapted. Some elements of the chapter simply weren’t needed. Plus, the show had opted to include Bree’s thoughts of Frank during the episode, so they needed to be used during the adaptation of this chapter. It is something I’ll go into more detail in when it comes to the adaptation section.

However, the important parts were used. With Ian Murray by her side, Brianna got her Lizzie and headed out on a journey across the seas.

Despite this chapter being an important one for the overall story, it is a shorter one. After all, there wasn’t that much detail needed to get from A to B in the chapter. It comes in at around 20 minutes, which is where the majority of the chapters come in for the rest of Part Eight.

And while it is a short chapter, there was plenty of foreshadowing within it. Let’s dive straight into Drums of Autumn Chapter 35.
