Brianna and Roger watch the moon landing in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 5

We enter the last chapter of Part Two in Outlander Book 4. It finishes up Brianna and Roger’s story for now, as we head back to the 18th century for Part Three.

Bree and Roger watch the moon landing. We get to see Joe Abernathy again, this time getting his character from Roger’s point of view. With everything that’s happened in Brianna’s life, it’s great to see that she still has an adult that she can turn to for help and someone who will make sure a man is right for her.

I love the fact that it’s the moon landing too. One of the big moments for Claire before she left the 20th century for Jamie, in Voyager, was Apollo 8 going around the moon for the first time.

It is a short chapter, coming in at just 13 minutes in length. It’s also a chapter that wasn’t used for the TV show. I’ll get to my thoughts on that matter in the adaptation section of the chapter.

Arguably, it’s not one of the most important chapters in the story, but it is a good one for the relationship development between Roger and Brianna.

Let’s dive into Drums of Autumn Chapter 5.
