Are you eager to find out as much as possible about Outlander Season 5 filming? It’s not much, but Sam Heughan does confirm filming is close to the end.

We may have a light at the end of the Droughtlander tunnel, but we’re still looking for ways to get through it. Stalking for Outlander Season 5 news and spoilers is one of those ways to help through Droughtlander. The problem is we’re not getting much info. Sam Heughan has helped relieve some of the stress with an update about filming progress.

He took to Instagram and, at first, it looked like it was just a throwback to the past. The image itself is that of Outlander Season 2, Episode 8. You’ll remember it as the time Claire and Jamie were forced into supporting the Jacobites after Jamie’s name had been fraudulently signed on the support for the Stuarts.

However, when you look at the caption, you’ll realize that it’s an update about Season 5. Heughan shared that filming on the penultimate block was beginning. This will likely be the same block that Sophie Skelton had previously shared about—Block 5.

We know that the show films in blocks, allowing for the grouping of similar episodes or similar settings. It can also help with the schedule of the actors who may be needed elsewhere. For example, Sam Heughan had been needed back in Montreal for some Bloodshot reshoots and Caitriona Balfe was recently at Toronto International Film Festival to promote her upcoming movie Ford v Ferrari.

With the news that the production is onto filming the penultimate block, that means Block 5 will likely be Episodes 9 and 10 unless some episodes have been filmed completely out of order. Considering it’s taken five months of filming to get to the fifth block, it’s likely that filming will be finished by mid-November. Filming remains right on schedule.
