Outlander Season 4 deleted scenes: Will we see Roger try to go through the stones?
One of the things book fans noticed about Roger’s trip through the stones was the lack of initial failed attempt. Will this be something we get to see through the Outlander Season 4 deleted scenes?
During Outlander Season 4, one thing many of the book fans looked forward to seeing was Roger’s failed attempt at going through the stones. It’s a part of the book that led to readers initially worried about whether Roger would get to Brianna, and it helped to set up explanations as to how people would get to particular time periods. It turns out that moment was filmed, so will it make it to the deleted scenes?
At the moment, we don’t know what the deleted scenes will be. However, it’s clear that there will be some. This is on top of the Outlander Untold scenes that were filmed specifically as DVD extras.

During the airing of “Down the Rabbit Hole,” EP Maril Davis live-tweeted about Roger’s venture through the stones. It turns out the failed attempt was filmed. There was the initial idea to keep it in the episode but the moment could never make it. There’s so much that needs to be fit in that it’s impossible to keep everything that was filmed.
I know a lot of people will complain that time was spent on Brianna walking through Scotland, but this was an important part too. This was a look at Brianna’s (lack of) ability to survive in the wilderness. It was a chance to show how she couldn’t cope vs. the way Claire could in Season 3. At least, that’s what I took from that.
Roger’s failed attempt to go through the stones wasn’t as important. This was important in the book as it focused on the need for an anchor either side of the stones. The need for an anchor wasn’t used in the show’s time travel lore.
Hopefully, though, this is used in the Outlander Season 4 deleted scenes. It would be fun to see it since it was filmed.
