Will we get to see more of Murtagh in Outlander?
Now that Murtagh is back, there are lots of questions about the future for him. Will we see him appear in more episodes of Outlander?
With Murtagh’s return, there’s a chance to include him in more episodes of Outlander. This will affect some of the book storylines, but with the position Murtagh has been given, the changes won’t be too difficult. The question is whether we’ll get to see more of Jamie’s godfather.
And, of course, we’re not getting into the spoilery territory. If you haven’t seen the previous episode and don’t know the role Murtagh will take, you may want to stop reading. I recommend the Outlander Season 4, Episode 5 recap if you want to get yourself caught up.
Still reading? Okay, then! Let’s get into it.

You know that Murtagh is a Regulator. While he says he’s not the leader, he is certainly running the show. He’s the one that’s getting people to sign up for this cause against Governor Tryon’s tax collectors.
Disenfranchised and angry, the Regulators want to stop the unfair taxes. And I can’t blame them. This is a storyline that is only going to grow and continue. The Regulators were a huge part in the lead up to the Revolutionary War. They’re so important that Duncan Lacroix read up on the history to make sure he was the part of the series.
So, what does this mean for Murtagh? We can most definitely expect to see him in more episodes of the series. He’s already in the trailer for the next episode, as he becomes the second person to learn that Willie is really Jamie’s son.
What’s going to be interesting is the role Murtagh has in the build-up to the Revolutionary War. We know that Jamie is on Governor Tryon’s side right now. He’s promised loyalty for the land and his word is his bond.
Will it remain that way? You’ll need to keep watching and I’m not going to spoil the books for you. However, right now, neither man will switch sides. Murtagh and Jamie are currently on the opposite sides of a coming war and Murtagh is the one on the right side of history this time.
What do you think about the use of Murtagh as a Regulator? Are you excited to see this storyline play out? Would you like to see more Murtagh on your screens? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
