Diarmaid Murtagh stepped into the shoes of Buck MacKenzie in Outlander Season 7A. Will he come back in Outlander Season 7B?
As we wait for Outlander Season 7B, we want to look at which characters could return. There are some with a bit of a question mark over them, and others that we fully expect to see return. One we expect to see come back is Buck MacKenzie.
The last we left Buck, he went through the stones with Roger MacKenzie. Buck volunteered to go back, sharing that they would be going to his time, so it would make sense for him to take Roger there. Together, they would be able to find out what happened to Jem. Plus, Jem is kin, and that means a lot to Buck.
Expect Buck MacKenzie in Outlander Season 7B
There is a lot to come for Roger and Buck, especially if the show follows the book storyline. We know that Dougal MacKenzie and Geillis Duncan are going to return. With that in mind, we fully expect to see the storyline in the past to play out. Of course, that hints that Roger and Buck don’t make it to 1778. They head further back in time.
How long will Buck stick around for? That’s another question. Roger shared that Buck’s year of death is noted as 1778, the year he came through the stones. It could suggest that he dies in the past. It could also suggest that he decides to stay in whichever time he’s in. He could also die coming through the stones, whether it’s going to the past or coming back from the past.
The change of actor also suggests that Buck will be back. Otherwise, it would have been fine having Graham McTavish playing the two roles. It’s a bit harder to do when the two are on screen together.
