Outlander Season 4, Episode 4 had some beautiful and exciting moments. It’s time to take a look back at the best lines before moving onto what’s to come in the next episode.

We got some outstanding moments in the last episode of Outlander. Season 4, Episode 4 delivered beauty, emotion, and foreshadowing. Now it’s time to take one last look back before we get into the next episode of the series.

To do that, it’s time to look on the best lines from the night. There were plenty that stood out, but here are my five favorite lines from Outlander Season 4, Episode 4.

Savagery can exist in many forms, Your Excellency. I’ve witnessed it in both prince and pauper.

More from Opinion

As Governor Tryon mentions how the Highlanders and the Native Americans share some savage tendencies, Jamie puts him in his place. Every one can be a savage, as we’ve seen over the years on Outlander. It’s not about where you come from but who you are deep down.

I love this whole scene between them. Jamie is trying to remain respectful but he also isn’t afraid to speak his mind when he needs to.

Your mother did a fine job raising you and I’m sure you’ll do just as well.

One of my favorite Claire moments is when she comforts Marsali. Without realizing or meaning it, Marsali did offend Claire by saying that delivering a baby isn’t the same as everyone. Of course, nobody knows that Claire has raised a child before.

However, more importantly, Claire doesn’t have anything nice to say about Laoghaire most of the time. However, she does in this instance. As Marsali worries about the future and just wants her mother to be physically near her, Claire is able to offer some comfort. There may be bad blood, but Claire can see that Laoghaire was a good mother to her daughters.

“Yona” is their word for bear, but “tskili,” I’m less familiar with. I gather it conjures a notion of “wickedness” or “evil.” An evil spirit in the form of a bear, by my reckoning.

When you look back over the episode, you can tell that there was going to be a change to the books. John Quincy Myers explains that the Cherokee call the bear the “Tskili Yona.” Breaking down the words, he knows that “Yona” means bear, but he can’t figure out the exact meaning of the second.

However, he mentions that there’s an evil spirit in the form of a bear. The evil spirit connects to the Cherokee beliefs and this connects to the idea that the former tribe member has become the bear, empowered with the spirit.

You must not be troubled. Death is sent from the gods. It will not be your fault.

Adawehi’s message to Claire is something that will mean more as the episodes continue. For now, it’s just a foreshadowing of death that will come. Who will die? Well, there are many thoughts from those who haven’t read the books and those who have read the books will have an idea of what’s to come.

What I love is that there is this connection. Adawehi knew of Claire before even meeting her. This was a chance to share the dream and the prophecy.

You mean when she went back in time to find Jamie Fraser?

Fiona made me laugh in this episode. I adore that she knew all about the stones and never brought it up. She wanted to respect the privacy of Roger and Brianna, but it was about time that it came out. After all, Fiona had her own information to share.

What I also love, is that Fiona wasn’t upset that Roger kept it all a secret. She knew that Roger didn’t realize she knew and never thought he would tell her. It’s not like you can just tell someone that you know time travel is possible. It showed her maturity and respect, making her a good soul in my book.
