Why we’re at the hardest part of Droughtlander

Droughtlander is getting tougher than ever. Well, tougher than it has been since Outlander Season 3 ended. Just why is that the case?

We’re into the hardest stretch of Droughtlander. If you thought that first week after the Outlander Season 3 finale was difficult, you’ll wish that you were there again. We’re at the point of wishing we had the early days back. What makes this so difficult when we’re getting closer to the end?

It’s all linked to filming. Outlander Season 4 filming has wrapped and that means the show is in the final stages of production. It’s all behind the scenes, with the editors and showrunners making some of the hardest decisions: which scenes will make it to the cutting room floor? While it’s a busy time for them, for us there’s barely anything to do.

We won’t see a lot of spoilers and teases now. Throughout filming, there was the chance a fan would take a couple of quick pictures. Sometimes we’d get a little clip or a tease. Or Maril Davis shared her “Heard on Set” segments.

Now we’re relying on the official channels. Yesterday, we got our first look at Fergus in the season, so hopefully, there is more of that to come to get us through this difficult spot.

But isn’t this the time for conventions? Surely that means there will be more news.

Well, the cast doesn’t get to give away a lot of information during conventions. At the Las Vegas con, Sophie Skelton had to stop herself from speaking because it would have been a spoiler. There’s a lot to keep quiet, especially since showrunner Matt B. Roberts doesn’t want anything spoiled.

While we’re at the most difficult part, we will get through it. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. We should at least have a trailer at New York Comic Con as well as a date. Right now, we know we have until November to wait. Hang in there, Sassenachs!
