It looks like Sam Heughan was counting weekends when he said Outlander Season 4 filming had 10 more days. Filming has officially wrapped!

Droughtlander is still going. And now it’s going to be Droughtlander for the stars. Outlander Season 4 filming has officially wrapped. The official Twitter account shared the update earlier today, with Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan both giving fans a wee message.

We knew the final day of filming was coming. Heughan had previously told us that there were 10 more days left. It looks like when he shared that he was including weekends when they don’t actually film. Ten days of actual filming should have taken us to the beginning of next week.

More from Outlander News

Throughout the week, the cast and crew were counting down for us. Maril Davis shared that July 2 was the last Monday of shooting and Balfe had shared that they’d done the last day of main set filming on July 3. The cast and crew didn’t take Independence Day off, with Richard Rankin being one of many wrapping up their Outlander Season 4 filming schedule.

It sounds like from Rankin’s tweet that Heughan and Balfe had a day to themselves on the set. That’s not surprising. Most season finales have focused only on them. The only one that didn’t was the season 2 finale, when Jamie and Claire separated for 20 years.

This is going to be the hardest part of Droughtlander. There’s going to be no more “Heard on Set” segments, no more spoilery photos, and no more teases from the events behind the scenes. There may be a few videos released but that’s it from the Twitter feeds. However, it does mean that Starz’s marketing campaign for the season should pick up again. If there’s not an Outlander Season 4 promo, there will hopefully be some sort of teaser coming up soon.

Outlander Season 4 filming wrapping does mean one thing, though. We’re getting much closer to the premiere date! It’s all about the editing now. Exciting!
