Terry Dresbach is stepping away from Outlander after this season. We’ll certainly miss her and we’ll use #WomanCrushWednesday to explain why.
Outlander would be what it is today without the talented, kind, and creative Terry Dresbach. Her costumes helped to show what the series could become. They’ve brought the books to life, making up half of the characters instantly.
As it’s #WomanCrushWednesday, now seems like the perfect time to share why she’ll be missed in the series. After all, this is more than just about choosing a modern day outfit to suit a character’s personality.
She spends hours crafted authentic outfits

Many shows have the benefit of looking at current styles. It’s possible to walk into a store and pick an outfit, or at least get a general idea. That’s certainly not the case for Outlander. Every outfit is a period piece. Even when in the 20th century, the outfits are all for a specific time and place.
Terry Dresbach has spent hours going through history, getting the designs just right for the time. And this is more than just the time period in one location. She’s created outfits suitable for post-War Britain, 18th century Scotland, pre-Revolution France, and much more. Many others have tried and failed, but we’ve seen the love and efforts that Dresbach has put into her costumes.
The time period comes to life. Sure, she’s had a team, but many of these outfits started within Dresbach’s mind. It’s going to be hard to replace her.
