Why we can’t wait for Brianna and Jamie to meet in Outlander Season 4
While Claire and Jamie’s reunion was the highly anticipated moment of Season 3, Jamie getting to meet his daughter is the one many can’t wait to see in Outlander Season 4.
As the title would suggest, there are spoilers in this for Outlander Season 4 based on “Drums of Autumn.”
There are many moments that we can’t wait to see play out, but one of the most highly anticipated moments of Outlander Season 4 has to be Jamie first meeting his daughter, Brianna. It’s the print shop scene of Season 3, but for so many different reasons. These reasons aren’t even because of the storylines that happen around Brianna’s journey to the past.

The big reason is that Jamie finally gets to meet his daughter. This has been the child he’s waited for 20 years to see; the child he never expected to meet because Claire was supposed to stay in the future. While Jamie has now seen photos of his daughter, he still likely never expected to meet her in the flesh, so seeing Sam Heughan portray that emotion is going to be awesome. He’s such a talented actor and will be able to show us everything without words.
For Brianna, it’s a chance to finally meet her biological father. Sure, she saw Frank as her dad. He took her in and raised her as his own. He did such a grand job that she had no idea he wasn’t her biological dad. Now we’re going to get to see her meet the Highland Warrior she’ll have spent a summer getting to know through her mother’s research. Then a couple of years through stories she’ll have gathered in her own research.
This is monumental for both of them. There are, no doubt, going to be a lot of feelings and emotions–and not all will be positive. It’s not going to be easy for Jamie to realize he truly has missed out on 20 years of his daughter’s life and now has a fully grown young woman who is so used to 20th-century life that ends up in danger in the 18th century almost right away. There’s going to be fear, regret, and disappointment on so many levels.
Then we’ve got Brianna who will also be full of fear, nervousness, and shock, as she learns the way of the world in the 18th century. There’s one thing reading about it and hearing her mom’s stories, but there’s another in living it. Two worlds collide for her, especially when she comes face to face with the man who led Clan Fraser at the Battle of Culloden.
