Outlander fans nearly saw Lord John Grey and Hector’s final moments
Outlander Season 3 included Lord John Grey telling Jamie his Culloden story. However, that story was almost shown to the viewers and now you can see it as a deleted scene.
There are many Outlander Season 3 deleted scenes. Some of them we’d have loved to have seen play out, but others are special inclusions on the DVD and Blu-Ray sets, giving us a further insight into the amount of work that goes into the series.
One of those deleted scenes was all about Lord John Grey and Hector. Originally filmed for the season premiere, the scene was then moved to be placed in Episode 3, “All Debts Paid.” The idea was to see the flashbacks, as Lord John Grey told his story of love and loss to Jamie. in the end, we just got the story and it was enough to understand John’s feelings, especially with David Berry’s outstanding performance during the scene.

Yet, now you can see what could have been. As part of the Season 3 deleted scenes, Lord John Grey and Hector’s final moments were put together with a short introduction from showrunner Ron D. Moore. He explains the reasons the clip was removed and adapted in the end, along with why it was removed from the Battle of Culloden flashes. It turns out what became memory flashes from Jamie started as an actual flash of the events with a cut away for Lord John Grey’s character development.
You can check out the full deleted scene on Vimeo at the moment. Hopefully, the links will be added to YouTube soon, just like the Season 2 deleted scenes were.
