Outlander Season 4 is currently filming in the streets of Glasgow. Many fans got a glimpse of Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe. However, a certain American figure was. Those who have read the books will know exactly who this is, but show-first or show-only fans will have likely been surprised at the inclusion.
Claire and Jamie head to the Colonies
Season 4 is going to be set in the Colonies for Claire and Jamie. If you think about the dates, you can probably guess the special figure the two will meet. They’ve landed in the Colonies in the late 1760s.

Still not a clue just yet? Well, also think about Jamie and Claire’s inability to stay out of trouble and revolutions. Yes, it’s the timing for the American Revolutionary War and the two are definitely going to find themselves involved. Which side? Well, you’ll either need to read the books or wait for the series, as we don’t want to give too many spoilers away!
One thing is for certain, the Frasers will meet George Washington, America’s first ever president. This is before he became president, so it will be interesting to see how this meeting plays out. It looked like George Washington was at the Glasgow filming yesterday, and it certainly makes sense that the Glasgow buildings will be used for the Colonial buildings. They’re from a similar time period and work as courthouses, ballrooms, and more.
The Frasers may meet Washington in a theater, and people behind the series share that fans will love it. This could adapt slightly from the books. Ron D. Moore previously shared that the overall story will be the same, but some event timelines have changed and a few surprises have been added in.
