5. Jamie is struggling between loyalty and honor

It’s clear that Jamie is struggling. Right now, he has no choice but to follow the orders of Governor Tryon. He’s dragged it out long enough, but he needs to start building that militia.

However, that doesn’t mean he wants to. There’s a quick moment where Jamie is in jail with two Regulators. He wants to avoid too many conflicts, but makes it clear that he’ll do what he needs to do. Jamie isn’t just trying to look out for his family, but make sure as little blood is spilled as possible.

4. Claire will do everything she can to save lives

Claire is going to deal with the loss of someone from the Ridge during Outlander Season 5, Episode 2. There are certainly going to be some that she can’t save, but that doesn’t mean she wants to lose those she doesn’t need to.

Our doctor is back in the office. She’s going to do whatever she can to keep people safe, even if that means “playing God.”

3. There are no secrets between Jamie and Claire

Some of the issues in the fourth season were the secrets between Claire and Jamie. That’s not happening in the fifth season.

Now that the wedding celebrations and the call to arms are over, it’s time for Jamie to share news about Bonnet with Claire. He’s going to tell Claire that Bonnet is around. Does Brianna need to know? We already know she’s overheard but nobody else knows that. It’s going to be a conversation for Claire and Jamie to have.

Something that I suspected would happen in Outlander Season 5 is the Regulators questioning which side Murtagh is on. After all, he shows a passion for the Regulators, but family is a strong bond.

It’s clear during the trailer that the Regulators are going to question Murtagh’s loyalties. Considering the Regulators will have a run-in with Jamie, that’s not all too surprising.

1. Murtagh isn’t giving up the cause

The promo also makes it clear that Murtagh isn’t giving up the cause. Just because Jamie is on Governor Tryon’s side right now doesn’t mean that Murtagh is going to give up the fight.

When the Regulators question Murtagh’s loyalty, it doesn’t look like he’s going to feel offended. He understands their worries, but he also makes it clear that he’s continuing this fight.
