Do Claire and Jamie have everything they’ve wanted in Outlander Season 5?

Outlander Season 5 includes a line from Murtagh that Jamie has everything he’s ever wanted. Is this really the case and is it also true for Claire?

Murtagh tells Jamie in one of the Outlander Season 5 promos that Jamie has everything he’s ever wanted. It seems to be Murtagh’s way of understanding why Jamie would follow Governor Tryon’s orders. The question is whether this really is a true fact.

And what about Claire? Does she also now have everything she’s ever wanted?

For Jamie, it is, in a way, true. He has the woman he loves and the majority of his family (Jenny and Ian are in Scotland and Young Ian is with the Mohawks) around him. He has a home. And more than that, he has a growing community becoming the laird of sorts of Fraser’s Ridge. It’s everything he once dreamed he would have.

The downside for Jamie is that he won’t have his godfather there with him. The two have always fought together; Murtagh helping to guide Jamie and be there to save him when necessary. Now, the two will find themselves on opposite sides of a war.

As for Claire, she seems to have everything. Not only is she back with Jamie, but Brianna is now with her. Their family is growing and Claire has the ability to practice her medicine. There’s a sense of achievement and happiness.

According to Caitriona Balfe in an interview with TV Tango, she does believe that Claire has everything she’s wanted to begin with.

Just how long will it last?

This is Outlander, though. We know nothing lasts forever. Whether you’re only here for the show or you’ve read the books, you just know that something is on the horizon.

I won’t spoil anything for those who haven’t read ahead. But what I will say is that while Claire and Jamie are as happy as they can be right now, there is drama and danger in the future. Things aren’t always going to be perfect.

However, the two will be together. They are stronger than ever before, especially since Claire returned to the past. The two have each others’ backs, the way we love it. Whatever happens, they’re facing it all together.
