Jamie and Rachel get the chance to bond in Outlander Book 9’s latest Daily Lines. This is a chance for a reminder of why Jamie can’t hear music.
We know that Jamie can’t hear music. At least, that’s the case in the Outlander books. I don’t remember it being mentioned in the TV series as of yet. Just in case fans forgot why he can no longer hear music, Diana Gabaldon offers us a reminder in the latest Book 9 Daily Lines.
These Daily Lines have come up in the past, with Gabaldon sharing how the ax to the head affected his brain. She went into more detail in the comments to explain why, medically, he can’t hear music at all. Of course, Jamie doesn’t understand this due to the time period, but that doesn’t stop him from reminiscing about hearing music from time to time.
More from Spoilers
- Did Bree and Lord John Grey marry in Outlander?
- Outlander Season 7B: Will Diarmaid Murtagh return as Buck MacKenzie?
- Outlander Season 7B: Will Chris Fulton return as Rob Cameron?
- Will Dottie be in Outlander Season 7B?
- 3 characters who definitely won’t return in Outlander Season 7B
That happens in the latest Daily Lines, as Jamie and Rachel get the chance to bond. Jamie explains a little about the Catholic religion, sharing how he would sit in periods of silence, likening it to Rachel’s Meeting.
It’s a beautiful chance for Rachel to get to know more about Jamie, a chance to get to know something a little deeper about him. After all, it’s not just about the words, but about the expression on his face at the same time. She gets to see his feelings on his face, and this is a man usually extremely good at a poker face.
These Daily Lines make us all the more excited about the book, which Gabaldon believes will be finished by the end of the year. However, it’s going to be sometime in 2020 for “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone” to be published now. Don’t forget you can pre-order from Poisoned Pen already.
Take a look at the latest Book 9 Daily Lines to experience more of Rachel and Jamie bonding.
