Why Outlander Season 5 reshoots aren’t a big deal

Outlander Season 5 is going through a stage of reshoots for some scenes. There’s no need to worry about this. Here’s why it’s not a big deal.

Outlander Season 5 filming is onto the reshoots. While some publications may make you feel worried about this, there’s no need to be. Here’s why there’s absolutely nothing wrong with reshoots.

In all honesty, reshoots are a normal part of the filming process. There are times during the editing process that production realizes something is missing or they realize that a scene just hasn’t quite worked properly. Production will choose to do some reshoots to fix some of the problems or add missing scenes.

This isn’t going to push production back. With years (and decades in some cases) of experiences, the production staff will have planned for the reshoots. While some will happen last minute, which was the case for Cesar Domboy’s, production will still have made sure there was time available to make sure these reshoots can happen.

STARZ has still set the date of the Outlander Season 5 premiere. This isn’t changing. The date will have been set with a specific end to the filming schedule set. And this would have allowed for a little time to overrun, but not too much because with experience, there shouldn’t be any overrun.

Editing is already ongoing for the earlier episodes, which is why the reshoots are happening as and when they can fit into the schedule. That should mean final editing takes place in the last months before the fifth season is released.

And don’t worry about major changes to the show. This isn’t what reshoots are for. The reshoots are to ensure the production gets the right scenes for earlier episodes and fix minor problems, not to make major changes.
