The Live + Same Day ratings slipped for Outlander Season 3, Episode 7. Is that really surprising when it was the one after the reunion?

Outlander Season 3, Episode 7 isn’t a favorite for many people. In fact, “Creme de Menthe” is probably the worst episode of the entire third season. There are various reasons for this, although I will admit that I understand Claire’s point of view of needing to save someone regardless of who he was and what he did. But it wasn’t the standard of the episode that saw the slip in the Live + Same Day ratings during the episode.

The episode after the major reunion of the season was always going to see a dip. More people than even tuned in for Episode 6. This was the moment that everyone had been waiting for. Naturally, there was going to be a dip the week after. Fans weren’t going to make it a high priority to tune in live or on that night. It really is as simple as that.

However, that doesn’t mean the ratings were poor. Despite being one of the least liked episodes of Season 3, “Creme de Menthe” wasn’t the lowest-rated or the lowest-viewed episode when the live ratings are taken into account.

Sure, there was a 19.5% drop in the demo rating, but it was still at 0.33. The lowest of the season was 0.26. The demo rating (which doesn’t matter when it comes to STARZ but is still interesting to look at) was above the average, according to TV Series Finale.

The total viewership dropped ay 11% but it was only to 1.5 million people. The lowest was 1.2 million. And the viewership was just slightly more than the average for the season.
