When can we expect the first Outlander Season 5 promo?

We now have a release date for Outlander Season 5. While that’s great, we all want more to get through Droughtlander. When will we get a promo?

STARZ surprised us all last week with the announcement of when Outlander Season 5 would be released. This was awesome news to give us a light at the end of the Droughtlander tunnel, but now all eyes are on more information about the fifth season of the series. One of the biggest questions is when we’ll get a promo for the season.

I wouldn’t expect anything just yet, and that’s not just because filming is still ongoing—entering the fifth block right now. It’s all linked to timing. STARZ won’t want to release anything too early to ensure the best promotional schedule before the season premieres. We’re likely looking at October or November for a teaser trailer to be released.

This is just based on the schedule for last season’s releases. The first teaser trailer for Season 4 was released on Jul. 30, about three months before the premiere on the season. An official trailer was then released on Sept. 10, two months before the release of the season.

If STARZ follows the same pattern, we’re looking at the end of October or start of November for the teaser trailer and then the middle to end of December for the release of an official promo.

However, a sneak peek or two could come first. With The Dublin Murders debuting very soon, STARZ may use a sneak peek of Outlander Season 5 to help promote the series and encourage more viewers for the very first episode. This was done for The Spanish Princess, with a look behind the scenes of production to encourage fans to watch the new series.

We could also see a sneak peek at NYCC 2019. It’s unlikely that we’ll get a screening of the premiere there, but this could be when the first sneak peek is released, exclusively for con-goers first and then released to the public. STARZ may surprise us with a promo while there, too.

At least with the premiere date, we’re getting close to the end of the Droughtlander tunnel.
