There are certain shows that you know just from the idea conception are going to be good. The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance was one of those shows. With a lot of the original team attached, specifically Jim Henson’s daughter, Lisa, this was guaranteed to be a success. It’s now made it to our list of 25 best shows on Netflix to watch as an Outlander fan.

Now for the reasoning. I’m not sure there needs to be much of an argument for putting the show on the list. Let’s be honest, as Outlander fans, we were immediately drawn because Caitriona Balfe does one of the voices.
But it’s more than this. The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is for new and old fans alike. It’s one of those TV shows that captures all elements of the original 1982 movie. We get answers to questions we’ve always had and see this world develop into something bigger and brighter. And then we gain new information, new questions, and new exciting storylines for the characters.
This is one of those prequels where you don’t need any information about the necessary endgame. It’s a story in its own right, with Easter eggs for fans of the original movie. Some prequels rely on fans having some of the information about various characters from there. There’s beautiful universe development, as well as some excellent puppetry to make you feel like you’re watching everything from 1982.
