The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is one of the shows with an Outlander cast member that we’re keeping an eye on. Caitriona Balfe does the voice of one of the characters, and while you don’t hear her voice in the trailer, this promo is certainly something you’ll want to check out.

Fans of the original movie, The Dark Crystal, will feel transported back to the time they watched it. Move over CGI. This Original is made the same way the movie was, full of puppets and beautiful artwork.

The two-minute-36-second trailer for The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance gives us the deepest look at the series so far. It’s set years before the original movie, telling of the war that led up to it. The crystal at the heart of the planet is being corrupted, and that spells danger for everything that lives there.

Now it’s up to the Resistance to gather together and protect their home. They need to fight against their one true enemy.

Some of this will feel somewhat similar to Outlander. Think of the Resistance as the Jacobites or even the Regulators. While the war within The Dark Crystal’s prequel series will end very differently, there are going to be some similar themes.

Get ready for a trip to the past. The series is out at the end of the month, but this trailer will wet your appetite until then.
