Why was Sam Heughan in Montreal this weekend?

Sam Heughan was spotted in Montreal over the weekend. Why would that happen when filming for Outlander Season 5 takes place? It’s for his movie, Bloodshot.

Over the last weekend, Sam Heughan took some time out of Outlander Season 5 filming to head to Montreal, Canada. It wasn’t for a vacation, though. The star was for his movie with Vin Diesel, Bloodshot.

MTL Blog shares that some reshooting of scenes for the movie is happening. There wouldn’t have been too much time for the reshooting since production on Outlander is well underway. As the lead on the series, that is going to take priority. The filming for Bloodshot was supposed to be out of the way by now, so reshoots would have to fit in as and when possible.

We know that Bloodshot is going to be released in February 2020. This is around the same time as Season 5 will premiere on STARZ. We can expect Sam Heughan to be an extremely busy man around this time.

He’ll be contracted to do a lot of promotional work for his TV show. That will take priority since he is the lead actor. However, there will always be questions that come up about his movie project. Considering he’ll want to grow in his career after the series (whenever that may be), he’ll want to make sure he’s shown to promote his movies.

During summer 2018, he took time to promote The Spy Who Dumped Me, even though he was a supporting player in the movie (although technically the lead male). Towards the end of this year and the start of next year, we’ll likely see him covering both his movie and his TV show, so expect plenty of interviews.
