Outlander Season 5 casting: Who is Mark Barrett?
Mark Barrett is joining the cast of Outlander in a ‘featured role.’ Just who is the actor and what has he done before? Let’s take a look at his career.
There have been some quiet casting announcements for Outlander Season 5. Mark Barrett is one of those joining the series, and naturally, fans want to know a little more about him. Just who is the actor and what has he done in the past?
You won’t find too much about the man online. His professional on-screen acting career only started in 2017 and he’s had three roles since then. In fact, one of those roles is for a series in post-production, so you can only watch him in two roles: as Jacob Creek in Creek and as Husband in the short A Day in the Life of a Suburban Housewife.

These roles don’t really give away too much. They don’t help us figure out what he could be like in Outlander Season 5. That isn’t a bad thing. After all, some of the greatest actors are still to be discovered! Remember Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan didn’t have extensive portfolios before they became Claire and Jamie.
We don’t know what type of role Barrett will play, either. It’s hard to look at past roles and take a guess at what he could be like on-screen when we don’t know who he’ll play.
His on-stage career does date back five years. Just recently on Twitter, Barrett shared that it all began at the Edinburgh Fringe. This is an annual event in Edinburgh where many comedians, actors, and more gather to show off their talents.

Barrett is active on Twitter. He shares about his upcoming roles but also focuses a lot on family, equality, and much more. Considering how vocal and charitable the main cast is, this is a man who will fit right in behind the scenes.
For now, it’s a guessing game. We’ll have to wait and see what the future brings.
