Is the Outlander Season 5 table read beginning today?
All eyes are on when the cast will come together for the first Outlander Season 5 table read. Could that be today? A tweet from Sam Heughan suggests so.
We’ve been on the lookout for Outlander Season 5 filming signs since February. Now all signs point to the show beginning filming in April. The first Season 5 table read could be happening today.
Yesterday, Sam Heughan tweeted about the table read, telling one fan that it would happen today. This was in response to said fan sharing that the table read was happening yesterday, and that post just happened to be an April Fools’ joke.
Then it hit. Could Heughan actually be telling a white lie? Was he using the day to joke around about when the table read would happen?

One of the downsides of being on social media on Apr. 1 is that you have no idea who or what to believe. After all, Claire and Jamie got a lot of people with an April Fools’ prank about Jamie traveling through the stones to head to the future — do you really think the showrunners would completely change this part of the canon, especially now that Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan are producers on the show?
It certainly is possible that Heughan was joking when he said the table read would happen today. So, we’ll have to wait and see what else is said on Twitter.
One thing is for sure, the Outlander Season 5 table read will come soon. The cast is gathering in Scotland and we’ll soon see cameras rolling. This first table read will be one of the most important parts of filming, as it gives the cast members a chance to chat about the scripts, read through together, and figuring out if their vision works with each others’ visions on the same scenes.
