Could The Order on Netflix get you through Droughtlander?
Throughout Droughtlander, I like to offer a range of show and movie ideas to help you get through the break. Today it’s about one of Netflix’s more recent additions, The Order. Could it be for Outlander fans?
Droughtlander is here and that means you’re likely looking for a show or two to help you make it through the break. I like to offer a range of options, focusing on different elements that draw people into Outlander. So, while The Order may initially seem like a questionable choice at first glance, there is something in the Netflix Original that may entertain you.
While Outlander certainly has its love story and history, it’s also a fantasy series. With the use of time travel, it opens the world of science fiction, using old legends and myths to send a 1940s nurse to the past. And it’s that fantasy element that could lead you to checking out The Order.

The Netflix series isn’t as well written as Outlander, but it does have the benefit of not being based on a book series. There’s no original material to focus on and feel the need to compare, meaning you can just sit back and enjoy. You get the chance to just see how a storyline plays out without judgment or feeling like it should work out a different way.
And while the writing isn’t as good, it’s still super crazy and unpredictable. You’ll be taken on a wild ride that’s full of supernatural elements, humorous moments, and twisty storylines. There are times you’ll wonder who you can trust and moments where you’ll be left with your jaw hanging open.
One of the best elements of the series is the friendship between Randall and Jack. They’re very similar to Angus and Rupert’s relationship, making me miss that the most from the most recent two seasons of Outlander.
With it being a series about witches and werewolves, it can seem like an odd choice to get through Droughtlander. However, once you watch the first episode, you’ll find yourself pulled into this twisty storyline.
