Sometimes the music is too loud or the sound isn’t quite high enough for voices to come through. It can be hard to tell what specific lines are and that’s what happened in Outlander Season 4, Episode 12. What was Roger’s last line?

Outlander Season 4, Episode 12 was a beautiful, emotional, heartbreaking episode. Roger’s storyline saw him attempt to look out for himself, only to realize that wasn’t the type of person he is. And so he went back and it ended with him being led back to the hut. But what was that last line?

Sometimes, music is just too loud. Or there are times when the words aren’t loud or clear enough to make out. That was the case at the end of the episode. Many fans have taken to Facebook groups or other social media to find out what the last line was.

As Roger was left away, he said “that’s it, lads. Take me back to the idiot hut.” He knew exactly where he was going after deciding that he couldn’t let the priest suffer before death.

This isn’t the first time a final line has been jumbled or not quite heard. I remember in Season 2’s “Prestonpans” wondering what Angus had said as he died (it was “help me, Mistresses” for those wondering).

The difficulty in hearing sometimes adds to the tension in the episode. That’s what it did in “Providence.” It felt like part of the line was meant to be jumbled or misheard. He was mumbling to himself and you know how you can sometimes just want to say something under your breath to avoid others hearing.

This moment was just Roger making it clear he knew what was going to happen next. He’d just got free but he couldn’t just look out for number one. He had resigned to what would happen next.
