When secrets came out in Outlander Season 4, Episode 10, arguments happened. Brianna has been getting flack for her actions, but this is all about coming in her defense.
Let me start by saying Brianna Randall Fraser definitely does not need someone to come to her defense. However, I’m going to make a case for her actions in Outlander Season 4, Episode 10. I had no problem with her actions during the big argument and it’s time to explain why.
My big issue was with Jamie. Not even giving her a chance to tell her full story, Jamie jumped to conclusions that Frank wouldn’t have done. And yes, I’ve just brought Frank into this argument because despite all the faults against Claire, he was a good father to Brianna. He raised her when he didn’t have to and he knew his daughter. Rather than just to conclusions and called her a liar, he would have listened first.

But moving off Jamie’s faults. This is all about Brianna in Outlander Season 4, Episode 10.
Honestly, if someone I didn’t know that well accused me of lying, I’d react in the same way as her. She’s pregnant, possibly with her rapist’s baby, and this man who she barely knows accused her of lying about rape. There are already many emotions and that relationship was already fragile, and he’d made it worse.
On top of that, she was worried about Roger. She’d believed he had gone back through the stones. Once she realized that Lizzie knew about the rape and had assumed Roger was the rapist, Brianna was scared. She knew enough about the time period to know it was dangerous — and she had no idea that Roger was even still alive.
Many people have said if they spoke to their dad like Brianna did or slapped them, they would have been punished, but Jamie isn’t the one who raised Brianna. Sure, he made a sacrifice to make sure Brianna was safe and raised well, but to Brianna, Frank was her father. Jamie was still a stranger, so she wouldn’t have felt like she was shouting at her father.
Plus, we’ve seen Brianna argue with her parents. She’s shouted at Claire and Frank before. This is a young woman in the 70s, who has been effectively orphaned for a few years. She’s had to look out for herself and make her own decisions, so that passion and fire grew.
That passion is part of being a Fraser. She and Jamie both argued with each other. They were both has loud and fiery. She reminded me a lot of Jenny, who also had that same Fraser passion and fire.
Brianna wasn’t a brat in Outlander Season 4, Episode 10. She was scared and angry, pregnant with potentially her rapist’s baby, and had been called a liar. Of course she was going to fight.
