The end of Outlander Season 4, Episode 10 saw Roger find another set of standing stones. We end with Roger’s hand dangerously close to that middle stone, but will he go through?
Poor, Roger. He had one of the hardest episodes so far, sold to the Mohawks and forced to become a prisoner. Thankfully, he got free and that led to him finding another set of standing stones in Outlander Season 4, Episode 10.
We closed with Roger putting his hand close to the stone; dangerously close that he could go through time. The look on his face certainly suggested that he was planning on going through. He didn’t like the idea, knowing what he was leaving behind, but his life was in danger and he needed to put himself first right now.
But we didn’t see him put his hands on the stones. Will he go through time during the next episode?
There’s not much to stop him
Right now, there isn’t much to sway him not to go through. He doesn’t realize that Claire is on her way to help him and has no idea what actually happened. Believing that he’s on his own and nobody else knows he’s in the past, there really isn’t anyone giving him a reason to remain in the past right now.
He could go through the stones, heal, and then return for Brianna. At least he’d be safe in the future.
That’s if he goes to his own time. Is there a chance he could go to another time?
Someone could stop him at the last second

Of course, you want to see Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian find him at the last second, but that’s not going to happen. Had they set off a little earlier, maybe it would have been, but they’re not going to find him.
However, there are others looking for him. The Mohawk tribe members that were out searching for their escaped prisoner could come across him. Roger is out in the open right now, so could be easy to grab at the last second.
It wouldn’t be the first time someone has tried to go through the stones and been pulled back at the last second. In Outlander Season 1, Claire was just about to put her hands on the stones when she could hear Frank on the other side. The British Army found her and pulled her away just before she had the chance.
While it’s a plot point used before, it’s one of those that would make sense in this case. Roger needs to get back to the Mohawks for Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian to find him. If he’s in another time, it’s going to be a wasted journey and a wasted storyline.
It could be a failed attempt
In Outlander Season 4, Episode 7, book fans were disappointed not to see a failed attempt from Roger as he tried to go through the stones. While this was a scene filmed, it had to be deleted due to time constraints, so we may get it in the deleted scenes footage.
The showrunners could choose to have a failed attempt here. Roger could put his hands on the stones and then get blasted back. That would alert the Mohawk to him being there and lead to him being captured again.
