After the shocking events of the previous episode, it’s time to move ahead and help Brianna find her parents. Is that going to happen in Outlander Season 4, Episode 9? Here’s a breakdown of the promo and synopsis.
To say Outlander Season 4, Episode 8 was shocking is an understatement. It’s one of the hardest episodes to watch in a long time. However, we’re already moving forward. It’s time to help Brianna find her parents and that could happen in Episode 9, titled “The Birds & the Bees.”
It’s certainly possible since everyone was in Wilmington in the last episode. Oh, if only Claire and Brianna knew how close they were to each other. Claire wouldn’t be overly happy but at the same time, she’d be ecstatic to have her daughter back.
Before jumping into the breakdown, here’s the trailer and promo. There are some spoilery teases moving forward if you haven’t watched the last episode. I’m not going to spoil anything from the books for those who haven’t read them.
"Brianna’s search for her parents finally comes to an end. The family returns to Fraser’s Ridge, where Jamie tries to bond with his newfound daughter. Meanwhile, Brianna struggles to suppress dark memories of the traumatic event that transpired in Wilmington, but Brianna’s efforts to conceal her pain do not go unnoticed by Claire."
Ready to break them both down? Let’s get into what we might be able to expect.
5. Roger’s duties aren’t over yet
More from Spoilers

After the events of the last episode, it’s not surprising to find out that Roger may be on his way back to his own time. He’ll likely be looking for passage to Scotland, but Stephen Bonnet has other intentions. He wants Roger back on his ship.
It looks like Bonnet has decided that Roger’s duties as one of the crew members aren’t over. After all, I don’t think Wilmington was the last port. What could that mean for Roger in the current time period?
4. Brianna finds her parents
There’s a clip at the very end of the trailer that shows Jamie ask “Have ye got a message for me, lass?” Could this be Brianna he’s talking to?
We know the meeting is coming up in this episode. The synopsis gives that away, telling us that Brianna’s journey come to an end. That means Jamie has a chance to get to know his daughter, while Claire is reunited with her. It’s all going to be bittersweet, which moves me onto the next point.
3. Brianna will struggle with PTSD
Rape is horrific. It doesn’t matter who its by, when it happens, why it happens, or whether you know you’re in the past during a dangerous time. Brianna doesn’t have the time to take in everything that happened to her and part of her won’t really want to.
Like we saw Young Ian struggle with the events with Geillis, we’re going to see Brianna deal with PTSD from Bonnet raping her. Could this be something that immediately helps Jamie and Brianna connect considering the events Jamie went through?
2. Claire knows her daughter well
Brianna will attempt to hide the pain of everything that happened. Not only will she now want to share what happened with Roger, she also won’t want to tell her parents that she was raped by Bonnet. Even though it shouldn’t, rape is something that brings shame.
However, Claire knows her daughter well. The synopsis tells us that Brianna can’t hide the truth from her mother. How much will Brianna tell Claire, though? Will she tell her about Roger and Bonnet? Judging by the title, Brianna may realize something that means she has to be completely honest.
1. Lizzie wants to help Brianna
Throughout the trailer, Lizzie wants Brianna to slow down. She just wants to keep her mistress safe and help her deal with the events that have happened to her.
This is likely to come up during the episode. After all, Lizzie is going to head to Fraser’s Ridge with everyone else since she’s Brianna’s servant (I’m intrigued at how Claire and Jamie will react to that). After seeing Roger but having no idea about Bonnet, will Lizzie jump to the wrong conclusion? You just know the nightmare for Roger isn’t over yet, right?
