Can Roger travel through the stones on Outlander?

The Outlander Season 4, Episode 7 trailer shows Roger will likely follow Brianna through the stones. Can he even go through?

Knowing Brianna would go through the stones in Outlander raised plenty of questions. One of those was whether Roger would follow her. Now it looks like that will happen in Episode 7, but there’s still one question. Can Roger even travel through the stones?

Those who have read the books will know the answer. You’ll know what happens. But I’m not here to spoil the books for those who haven’t read them or read the spoilers. This is all about the series.

We can get the answer from the second season finale, as well as from the promo for Sunday’s episode. In the finale, Claire, Brianna, and Roger head up to the stones when Geillis travels through. All three can hear the buzzing, something that we know Jamie couldn’t hear in the same episode.

It’s clear that those who can travel through the stones are able to hear the buzzing. Roger mentions it in the promo for the next episode, asking Fiona if she can hear it.

Can she hear the buzzing? We don’t get the answers but it’s unlikely. Mrs. Graham couldn’t hear the buzzing and it seems like the ability to travel is hereditary.

And that leads to another hint that Roger can travel through the stones. He’s a descendant of Geillis Duncan, who can travel through the stones. While this isn’t a guarantee that someone can travel, it’s a strong possibility.

It wouldn’t be a love story for Brianna and Roger if he couldn’t travel through the stones, right? It’s clear he’s got to be able to but there are plenty of hints that it’s possible.
