Outlander Season 4, Episode 7 has both promo and synopsis out. What can we take away from them for the upcoming episode?

It’s time to go “Down the Rabbit Hole” in Outlander Season 4, Episode 7. With the promo and synopsis available, we can figure out a few things that will happen in the episode.

As usual, I like to break down the promo and look into the details of the synopsis. While there are no direct spoilers, there will be some teasery bits that aren’t for everyone. If that’s the case for you, can I recommend Jamie’s best moments from the previous episode?

Before getting into the promo and synopsis, you need to know what happens in them. Here are the official STARZ releases for “Down the Rabbit Hole.”

"Brianna follows in her mother’s footsteps and travels through the stones back in time to 18th century Scotland where she struggles to make her way to the Colonies to find her parents, Jamie and Claire. Meanwhile, Roger follows Brianna into the past and embarks on a harrowing sea journey."

Let’s be honest, it looks like we’re finally getting fully into Brianna and Roger’s storyline this week. Here are the five biggest takeaways.

5. No Claire and Jamie this week

More from Spoilers

So far, we’ve had three episodes that have been solely about Claire and Jamie and one that has been 90% about them. It’s time for one that is just Brianna and Roger. Yes, it’s still Claire and Jamie’s story but Brianna and Roger are becoming major players and they have some big storylines coming up.

They’ll need this full episode to tell their tales. Brianna is in the past and heading off to the Colonies, while Roger is trying to figure out what to do next.

4. Roger hears the buzzing

Roger and Fiona head up to Craig na Dun. Now that Fiona knows the truth, it makes sense to take her up to the stones and explain a little more about time and reality. What’s going to be interesting is to see how she reacts up there.

In the Outlander Season 2 finale, Roger heard the buzzing with Claire and Brianna. He asks if Fiona can hear something in the trailer for Outlander Season 4, Episode 7. Does Fiona hear it?

Probably not. There’s a clip in the opening credits where you see Fiona’s hands touch one of the stones. She likely does it to see if something, anything happens. Will Roger have gone through first and she tries to follow? We’ll have to wait and find out.

3. Brianna definitely knows about the fire

Somehow, Brianna has learned there will be a fire. There are plenty of fans curious about how she learned this since Roger never told her. This could be an episode where we find out, maybe with some flashbacks of Brianna and Frank.

However, this trailer makes it clear that she knows about the fire. It’s not clear who she is talking to, but it’s likely that she heads to Lallybroch. Unfortunately, Laura Donnelly wasn’t available for filming the fourth season, so Brianna may just tell Ian Murray, Laoghaire, and Joanie about the fire details. After all, Laoghaire will want to protect Jamie to make sure she keeps getting her alimony.

2. Roger is clean shaven

Since his introduction, we’ve seen a bearded Richard Rankin. Now Roger is clean shaven. This is something the book fans have requested for a while, as Roger is clean shaven in the books. However, it does make him look much younger.

Why is he clean shaven? Is this to set up some sort of character for him as he travels to the past? He does look like he’s attempting to dress to fit in with the time period. Like Brianna, the costume won’t be perfect for various reasons but he’s making an attempt to fit in with the 18th century. It looks like he’s going through.

1. The villain is back

At long last, Outlander is getting a villain back. Stephen Bonnet returns in the episode, likely on the same ship that Brianna heads to the Colonies on.

This means more danger and turmoil. What is he up to now that he has the ring from Claire? What’s his next plan?

One thing I said to my husband is that Outlander Season 4 (and even Season 3) has missed someone like Black Jack Randall. Stephen Bonnet was an interesting addition in the premiere (and is in the books) so I’ve been eagerly anticipating his return.
