What does Jamie want to make from the candlesticks on Outlander?
Throughout Outlander Season 4, Episode 5, Jamie searched for the silversmith to create something special. What exactly does he want the candlestick for?
While most of Outlander Season 4, Episode 5 was focused on Murtagh’s return and the situation at the Ridge, there was a running plot point that will clearly come up at a later moment. Jamie was searching for a silversmith to make something special out of his mother’s candlesticks. What exactly was that special item?
There may be many items that Jamie could melt down to create, but this is something special. Not only did he want the best on it, but he was using the silver from a candlestick that belonged to his mother.
That means one thing: It’s something for Claire.

The last time he did something special like this was on his wedding day. He wanted to make sure Claire had the perfect day, even if she was drunk for the whole thing. And part of that day was the ring. Fashioned from the key to Lallybroch, he had a beautiful and unique wedding ring created.
See where I’m going with this? He’s likely getting another ring created. The wedding ring was stolen by Stephen Bonnet and that means Claire only has the one from Frank. Jamie feels guilty that the only thing of worth he’s ever given Claire was stolen so he’ll want to get her another one.
During the Season 4 filming, it was impossible to miss the new ring of Claire’s finger at one point. It was a talking point that was quickly moved on from and never came up again when the Lallybroch ring was taken (although it was on the back of my mind). Are we finally going to get to see that ring being made?
I think it’s perfect for Claire and Jamie’s story. The silver is from something of his mothers and it will be Murtagh who’s able to make it. There’s so much love that will go into this ring that is sure to become a favorite.
