How does Brianna know about Claire and Jamie’s fate on Outlander?

Brianna knows something important about Claire and Jamie on Outlander. What exactly is it and how has she found out?

In Outlander Season 4, Episode 5, Brianna told Roger in a letter that she knows something bad will happen to Claire and Jamie. We can all assume that she’s somehow found out about the fire. The big question is how she has found out.

It’s clear it’s the fire that has pushed Brianna to go through the stones. This is the reason she goes through time in “Drums of Autumn,” and in the letter, she says that she needs to try to stop this big event. She’d want to find a way to save her parents if she can, so going through the stones is the best option.

Chances are she found the same obituary that Mrs. Graham did. The date would have likely been smudged too, which means she knows she has just 2-12 years to find her parents and warn them. She’ll work with the assumption that Claire and Jamie could die in the fire in 1770, so time is of the essence.

But how has Brianna found out? Roger didn’t tell her.

This could link to Frank’s voiceover in the Season 4 trailer. It could also link to the flashes of Brianna by Frank’s graveside, something many fans have waited to see for a while.

This would certainly make sense. During the books, Brianna does find some of her dad’s research. Frank would certainly do some research into the Jacobite period. This would connect to the fact that he was having an affair with Sandy (who was a graduate in Jacobite history) and his previous love of the period. There’s no way as a historian that Frank would not look into the past for anything linked to Claire.

Brianna may have found some of his research. If he found the same obituary, she may have found it now.

Hopefully, this is something that will be explained soon. There are likely to be flashes of Frank doing some sort of research and we may just get some flashes of Brianna looking through his things. Here’s hoping, anyway, because I would love to see more of Tobias Menzies on the screen.
