What can STARZ do to up Outlander promotion with one week to go?
There’s just one week left until Outlander Season 4 premieres. What could STARZ do now to up the promotion?
Outlander promotion had been quiet until about a month ago. As soon as we got that buildup to NYCC, we saw more featurettes, interviews, and more. Is there anything else STARZ could do with just a week left until the fourth season premieres?
Tonight will see the screening of the premiere in Savannah. The cast is there right now to view the episode again with fans and there may be a discussion or Q&A afterward.
However, for those who aren’t in the area, what more could STARZ do? With a week left, this is the perfect time for more featurettes. There have been some on the individual main characters like Claire, Jamie, Brianna, and Roger. A focus on the New World and on some of the behind-the-scenes moments have also been included.

This week could see some teasery featurettes on the newer characters. We know that Stephen Bonnett, Aunt Jocasta, and Ulysses will be part of this season, so how about some featurettes on them. This could give the book fans an idea of the type of stories that will be included. It could also allow for some teases for the show-first or show-only fans because there are plenty out there.
There could also be more featurettes on the Native tribes in North Carolina or on the brewing war. What about something about Lizzie Wymess or other newer but smaller characters we know about? Then there’s the relationship between Jocasta and Claire or that blossoming relationship between Roger and Brianna.
More cover shoots would also be good. We’ve had TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly, but there are far more magazines out there that could host Outlander covers. These would have been organized in advance, so maybe the two that are out were the only ones that were planned.
Then there is more social coverage. How about polls or some competitions? Could there be more snippets of the premiere or new images released?
STARZ is unlikely to hold back on the promotion for the series this week. While the live ratings won’t matter as much this year because the fifth and sixth season have been confirmed, they still need to be good enough to keep the ratings in future seasons. With shows that take such long breaks, extra promotion in the runup to a new season is essential.
