Outlander fans shared their hopes for Season 4. Book and non-book fans took part in the TV Time survey and here are the results.

What are you most looking forward to seeing in Outlander Season 4? Would it be Brianna and Jamie meeting? How about Brianna and Roger’s relationship blossom? What about Frank or Murtagh’s possible returns? There are so many events and Sassenachs had the chance to share in a recent TV Time survey.

Over the course of four days (between Oct. 19 and Oct. 23), fans on the app shared their hopes and excitements for the upcoming season. In the end, 817 people share their opinions and while 87% of those who shared said they were female, the age ranges are fairly evenly matched.

Who took part in the TV Time Survey?

Out of all the fans, 85% are eagerly waiting for the upcoming season, which certainly doesn’t surprise me after seeing the crowd at NYCC. This is a show that has touched hearts of all around the world. What did surprise me was the fact that 38% had said they’d never read the books. They’re show-only fans.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with that. That does mean more have read the books, but only 25% have read all the books. This part doesn’t surprise me too much. The jump in viewers between Seasons 2 and 3 made it clear that there are more fans tuning in because of the show rather than the books.

The other percentage of people were split between people reading up to “Drums of Autumn” and those who have started reading but aren’t ahead of the show yet. This collection of people would be me then.

What do people want to see in Outlander Season 4?

It shouldn’t be surprising to hear that Jamie and Brianna meeting each other is the most highly anticipated moment of the season. The book readers certainly look forward to this more than the show-only fans, though, with it split 70% and 57% respectively.

While the book fans are also looking forward to Claire and Jamie settling in at Fraser’s Ridge, the show-only fans are looking forward to seeing the dangers that the Colonies will bring. Again, this doesn’t surprise me. Show viewers need the constant drama. That’s the way TV shows are written. Some of the most exciting parts of the show have involved the battles and the threats around the corner.

It’s the people fans are looking forward to where there is a huge shift. Of course, Murtagh is at the top for both and this is possibly because it’s something new. Show-only fans look forward to this in a larger amount with it being 31% of book fans and 43% of show-only fans. After this, Outlander Season 4 has a mixed bag of expectations and wishes.

The book fans are certainly staying loyal to “Drums of Autumn.” They want to see Rollo and Aunt Jocasta mostly, with Stephen Bonnet a little behind them.

When it comes to show-only fans, there’s hope for a new villain (so, Stephen Bonnet) and the hope that Geillis could return. Considering time travel and all that, it’s not entirely impossible for the showrunners to figure out a way to bring her back but book fans know what will really happen and it’s possibly why she wasn’t on the list.

Show fans also want to see Lord John Grey, Frank Randall, Willie, Jenny & Ian, and Joe Abernathy. They should all show up at some point during the season, even Frank despite his death in Outlander Season 3. We have heard his voice in the trailer and this could be why show-only fans can’t wait to see him.
