So, those of you looking to find out if Lord John Grey will return in Outlander Season 4 have a safe space at Claire and Jamie.
Here, I like to just answer your question, delving into a few spoilery details for those who want them. So, yes, there are spoilers for those who haven’t read the books yet. And yes I do roll my eyes at people who answer a simple “yes” or “no” question with “read the books.” One word vs. three words…hmm…

Well, Lord John Grey returns in “Drums of Autumn,” so that should mean he returns in Outlander Season 4. The show is following that book after all. However, STARZ has been super secretive about a lot of its filming and footage. I haven’t even seen photos of David Berry on set, so there’s a chance something could have changed.
It’s unlikely considering the storyline, but there’s always that chance. I don’t assume anything!
Lord John Grey has an important role in “Drums of Autumn.” He’s closely connected to Brianna’s storyline. I don’t want to spoil too much for you, but she considers him a potential husband after everything that happens to her when she goes to the past.
With Lord John Grey’s return comes Willie’s. I’m not going to say much about that because that’s for another post later today. But this is also going to be an important storyline for Claire and Jamie, which will adapt slightly from the novel considering the events of the third season.
