Will Claire and Jamie be separated in Outlander Season 4?
Every season, Claire and Jamie find themselves separated for some period of time. Is that going to happen in Outlander Season 4?
From the very beginning, Claire and Jamie have been separated in some way. Most of the time, it’s due to Jamie being arrested. Now fans want to know if it will happen in Outlander Season 4.
Some of this post will contain spoilers based on “Drums of Autumn.” However, it’s worth pointing out that the showrunners may have changed some of the plot points and added some in.
Why would Claire and Jamie be separated? They are now in the New World and building a home together. The Outlander Season 4 key art shows the two together, standing strong and braving the new world ahead of them.

However, separating the lovebirds certainly helps to create drama. It seems the most convenient way to do that is through arresting one of them, usually Jamie. This shouldn’t be the case for the fourth season. While there is certainly a war brewing, in the beginning, Jamie decides to stay loyal to the British. He knows that’s the best for his family. It’s in “The Fiery Cross” that he switches sides with the (eventually successful) rebels.
There’s no need for the two to be forced to separate. However, they will have scenes apart. They do have separate lives as well as a life as a couple, after all! There are moments where Jamie goes off in search for individuals and has a run-in with a certain MacKenzie, which Claire isn’t a part of.
All of this could change. To add drama in an episode, the two could find themselves apart for much longer. We just never know what the showrunners will change. However, if the show is sticking with the novel “Drums of Autumn,” there shouldn’t be a long period where the two are separated.
