The nominations for the Emmys 2018 have been announced. Outlander was missing from the main characters it was put forward for consideration in.

It’s a sad day for Outlander fans. After months of saying how amazing Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe were in the third season, the series has been snubbed for the Emmys 2018. Nominations were announced and the show was nowhere, not even a nomination for the Best Drama Series.

The Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Drama Awards were all mentioned in the live viewing. Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, and the series were all noticeably missing. However, The Crown, which Tobias Menzies is in for the third season, did receive a couple of nods–one of those being the Best Drama Series. As Outlander fans, we may want to support The Crown this year.

This certainly isn’t the first time the show and actors have been snubbed. However, in previous years when the series has been eligible for contention, there have been nods for the costume design and music. This isn’t the case this year.

Some of the shows that have been nominated include The Crown, This Is Us, The Handmaid’s Tale, Westworld and Game of Thrones. The good news for us is that some of those shows won’t be in contention for next year’s Emmys, but our show will since the fourth season will premiere in November 2018.

It’s certainly disappointing. Now we will just have to hope that the stars align and pieces fall into place for the Emmys 2019.

Update: At the time of writing this, Outlander didn’t have any nominations on the Emmys list. Now it appears that the show has been nominated for the period costumes. And yes, that nomination is well deserved!
