Simona Brown has been cast in the role of Gayle in Outlander Season 4. We will break down who she is, and why she’s important next season.
One of the latest additions to the Outlander Season 4 cast is Simona Brown, who will play Gayle, a character that isn’t particularly memorable in the books — but perhaps will be on screen.
Fair warning to those who have not yet read the books, there are spoilers from “Drums of Autumn” in this article so stop reading here if you don’t want details revealed.

It seems that a handful of the new cast has connections to Brianna in some way, which is to be expected as she was a main plotline in the book at this point. Gayle is no exception. She is Brianna’s college roommate and best friend. Her full name is Gale Bosworthy and the only tidbit I remember about her was her love of kilts — go figure.
There’s no indication in the books that Gayle knew of her best friends time traveling plans, but perhaps that will be something that is changed for the show.
Who is Simona Brown?
Brown has a long acting resume dating back to 2013 when she made her television debut. She’s starred in Roots, Kiss Me First and is currently filming a mini-series called The Little Drummer Girl. Brown is also a working model and absolutely gorgeous.

The actress’ IMDB hasn’t been updated with the new credit yet so it’s hard to tell how many episodes she’ll be in, but I’d estimate her part to be small and only last one, maybe two episodes.
