Outlander Season 3 DVD sales prove fans want more of Claire and Jamie
Starz needs to pay attention to the Outlander Season 3 DVD sales, as they prove that fans need more of the Frasers. It’s time to give us Outlander Season 5.
With the way that watching TV shows and movies has adapted in recent years, it’s normal for networks to worry about DVD sales. That’s especially the case for a network like Starz, where content is consistently available. Arguably, there would be no need for fans to buy the Outlander Season 3 DVD boxset.
Yet fans have! Those in the United States went straight to Amazon, as soon as the DVD and Blu-Ray sets were released on April 10. The series is so popular that the DVD instantly made its way into the Amazon bestseller list and remains there even now. It immediately shows that Outlander fans want more of Claire and Jamie, so Starz needs to renew Season 5 immediately.

If the bestseller spot wasn’t enough (the DVD is in the Top 5 and the Blu-Ray in the Top 15 at the time of writing this), then the fact that Outlander is the only TV series in this list should be enough to warrant a renewal. All the rest in the TV and movies Top 20 list are movies, including Star Wars: Episode VIII, Fifty Shades Freed, and Coco. In fact, it’s the only TV series in the Top 50!
Ron D. Moore has already said that Outlander Season 5 is happening, but Sony and Starz are still trying to negotiate terms. Some of the negotiations could be due to Starz expanding its programming into Canada through Bell Media, but right now we don’t have anything official. If Starz was waiting for anything, the Amazon bestsellers list for the Outlander Season 3 DVD sales should be enough.
