Could another Outlander Season 4 tease come on April 17?
April 17 makes the year when the first Outlander Season 3 teaser aired. Could this be a good time for another Season 4 tease?
Starz has done things very differently between Outlander Seasons 3 and 4 compared to between Season 2 and 3. For one thing, the third and fourth seasons were renewed together, meaning the showrunners could move straight onto Outlander Season 4 after the third season finished. However, the network has also had the chance to release more teasers in short succession compared to the third season.
April 17 will mark the year anniversary of the first Outlander Season 3 teaser. This was released directly through the Starz YouTube channel. Now fans want to know whether the anniversary will mark the release of a third teaser for the upcoming fourth season.

So far, we’ve had a 20-second teaser at the end of the Season 3 finale and a minute-long teaser released in January. The longer teaser aired straight after an Outlander marathon on the network and was later shared on the official YouTube channel for fans without Starz to watch. Starz kept the news of the teaser relatively quiet until a few days before the marathon.
Why bother with another Outlander Season 4 teaser?
Teasers are a good way to keep the buzz around the series. They’re a way to encourage people to keep their subscription to the cable service, while also boosting discussion about the upcoming season. This is also an excellent way to capture new fans who may never have heard of Outlander before, encouraging them to sign up and binge the first three seasons before the release of the fourth season.
Whether there’ll be another teaser on April 17 is unknown, but this would be a good time to release another. Outlander Season 4 is over the halfway mark in filming. There are a number of new characters joining now that the Frasers have made it to the Colonies. We all have questions about how Stephen Bonnet could be a worse villain than Black Jack Randall and a teaser could give us a hint of that. Now that we know Brianna will make it through the stones, thanks to the photo spoilers, a teaser showing that could be an excellent way to boost discussion.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the series. At the moment, it’s mostly talk on Twitter, with Maril Davis’ Head on Set segments. It would be nice to have something official from Starz to mark the year anniversary of the first Outlander Season 3 teaser.
How about an Outlander Season 4 premiere date instead?
Alternatively, this would also be a good time to give us a premiere date for the fourth season. We know it’s coming in fall 2018 (even the recent Season 3 DVD release confirms that) but we don’t know exactly when. There are some clues, such as the filming looking like it will wrap in June, giving enough time to edit and release around the second or third weekend in September. There’s also the suggestion that the release is coming a little later than last year.
April 17 would also be a good date to give us Outlander Season 5. We’re still waiting (im)patiently for that news since Ron D. Moore and Chris Albrecht keep saying that it’s happening!
