The Hunt for Roger Mackenzie: ‘Outlander’ Audition Tapes

Season two of Outlander is in full swing, but the search for Roger Mackenzie continues. No official casting call announcement have been made like with Brianna Randall role. What has been leaked are some audition tapes, and the job is really up for grabs.

During the summer, Outlander producers were happily announcing the casting of major and minor characters for season two. Unfortunately, the two biggest casting announcements have yet to be made. Brianna and Roger are the other half of our time traveling foursome. Roger Mackenzie as a child made a brief appearance in Outlander season one as the adopted son of Reverend Wakefield. Recently executive producer Ron D. Moore announced in a Twitter Q & A Roger would make an appearance in season two. He also confirmed suspicions they had not found the perfect adult Roger. With the character, Roger not making his appearance until late in season two could assume the storyline would not be the same as in the second book Dragonfly in Amber.

Recently audition tapes for Brianna hopefuls were being circulated on the internet. Fortunately for Outlander fans the same has occurred for Roger Mackenzie. Unlike the wide variety of different women auditioning for Brianna, the Roger hopefuls were about the same. Interestingly, after the announcement of the audition tape leaks, most pf the videos were pulled or made private. However, some brave men have decided to leave their videos up for our viewing pleasure.

When it comes to Outlander fans, no news is bad news. Hopefully, soon we can have a reprieve from Droughtlander with casting announcements about Roger and Brianna. It is nice to see producers not willing to settle and pick anyone for the parts even if time is running out. Whoever is chosen as Roger and Brianna will be embraced by a loyal fan bases and have a job for years to come.
