Jamie needs to sand his initials off something in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 82

Poor Jamie is a little embarrassed in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 82. He has to sand his initials off something that he thought was a toy for a child.

The chapter is another short one. There isn’t much going on for Claire and Jamie right now, so we’re just getting caught up on a few things going on. This chapter does suggest that the two are facing some financial issues, though.

There is some humor in this chapter at Jamie’s expense. He brings an item that he made for Claire at her request. He’d assumed it was a toy for one of the children, so he put his initials on it as he does with all the toys. That’s not what it was, and he ends up a little embarrassed by the end of the chapter.

I doubt we’ll see this chapter used in the TV series, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section. I would love to see it, though.

As for foreshadowing, I think this is in Claire’s concerns about financial troubles. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 82.
