Ronald D. Moore Spilling Outlander Season 2 Secrets

Droughtlander is in full effect. Outlander season 2 is currently filming in Europe, but news about the show is in short supply. Dinna fash yourself. Television show’s producer, Ron D. Moore has come to our rescue providing fans with a two-day Outlander Q & A session while taking in a Giants game. What he spills might shock you.

Outlander producers have been tight-lipped about season 2 especially about what is going on with the casting of characters Brianna and Roger. Season 2 is currently filming in Prague, and the only news fans have to chew on are the fantastic costume designs Claire and Jamie don for the French court scenes. Ron D. Moore is not in Prague with the rest of the Outlander cast but is in America. He took some time out to catch his beloved baseball team, the Giants, and to quench our thirst with some Outlander tidbits.

The first question is quite possibly the most asked question. When will droughtlander be over? Ron could not give a premiere date but would confirm a March or April 2016 release. Since Outlander airs Saturday nights it does not have any real direct competition. The long offseason might have to do more with the cable company, Starz finding space on its schedule. This does give the production team more time to find our perfect Brianna and Roger, but not much time.

The second most asked Outlander question has to do with the casting of Brianna and Roger. Since the second leads have yet to be found it is leaving fans uneasy the show will “go off book” and not have the characters in season two. Audition videos have leaked on-line for both Brianna and Roger but have not found the right person. He did confirm Roger is going to make an appearance in season two, but it will be later in the season.

As reported, Outlander book series writer Diana Gabaldon would be adding screenwriter to her resume for season two. She spoke in depth about the process of writing the episode on her Facebook page. Ron said he had no plans to write or direct any of the episodes in season 2. The last time Ron directed a television show was in 2010 for the short-lived Caprica. Ron’s involvement with Outlander will be as the executive producer.

We hope Ron will continue with his impromptu Outlander Q & A sessions while we suffer through another droughtlander. It was nice to hear from the producer where the show is going and dispel some of the rumors and speculation surrounding season two of Outlander.

What do you think of Ron’s tweets? Do you think he should say more or less about season two?
