The Hunt for Brianna: ‘Outlander’ Audition Tapes

facebooktwitterreddit

The hunt for Outlander’s Brianna is on. We read the casting call for her character last week, and now we have found a bunch of audition tapes! It’s not hard for us to see why she’s still not been cast. The talent pool is deep and wide. But will it be a “nobody” or can we expect to have a well-known name join the cast?

More from Casting

In case you haven’t yet seen the casting call for Brianna, you can read all about it here.

So, why have they waited so long to cast Brianna? And what about Roger Mac? Well, I have a theory, but I’m not sure you’ll like it very much.

There are Book 2, Dragonfly in Amber, spoilers ahead!

Ok. Here I go.

I’m not sure Brianna will even be in Season 2 of Outlander. The reason I say that is because of what we already know about Season 2. Not a single 1968/ 20th Century character has been cast (besides Frank and Claire and the Reverand). The ONLY characters that have been cast are the 18th Century characters- most of the heavy hitters that Claire and Jamie will meet in France and the Scottish characters that come over with them, or were introduced in Season 1 obviously.

So what does this mean? Well, I think it means Season 2 will take a detour from the books and remain in one time frame- 18th Century Europe.

We know that at least most of the season will take place in 18th century France, AND we got this cryptic albeit funny warning from Diana on her blog last week:

"“Yes, I know how it ends. No, I’m not going to tell you. It will be fine. Don’t worry.”"

So. I’m not really sure we’ll see Brianna at all in Season 2. They could take us all the way up to the battle of Culloden and then time jump to the 20th Century when Claire is back in her own time- back to Book 2, where she’s explaining to Brianna what happened… I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

The waiting is killing us!

Here are some audition videos worth watching!
